Winter training for the Swedish Federation has begun as a team of young elite players with their 2 coaches enjoyed a sunny week working hard on their games here at Arcos Gardens. They particularly enjoyed using the driving range and the fast greens out on the course.
The SGF will be sending out a group a week to Arcos Gardens for most of the winter. "It is great to see such good young talent out here, I certainly won't be playing any of them for money" says Ashley Northridge the golf director of Arcos Gardens

To celebrate the course opening, Arcos Gardens held the Arcos Gardens Invitational. A 4BBB stableford competition saw 24 teams battling for glory to win this inaugural event. Even though the winds blew nothing could stop the eventual winners, Mike and Annette Graves, from carding a fantastic 42 points, 2 clear points from second placed Mr and Mrs Kiwit. Mr and Mrs Graves said they look forward to trying to defend their title next year and comment on how much they had enjoyed playing the course.

The Netherlands team celebrate their 2006 World Amateur Team Championship with the Eisenhower Trophy.
Just two weeks after the Netherlands visited Arcos Gardens to compete in the Arcos Gardens European Challenge and to work on their games, the same three players from the Netherlands have just won the world Amateur Championships called the Eisenhower Trophy this year held in South Africa. Speaking today with Gordon Machielsen the official of the team, he is convince that the time his team spent at Arcos Gardens helped tremendously to prepare them for their brilliant win. We wish to congratulate them and we look forward to welcoming them back to Arcos Gardens soon.

Arcos Gardens Project Director , Rafael Orbaneja Gómez-Jordana, has spoken excitedly of the new Arcos Gardens sailing facilities on the lake next to Arcos de la Frontera: "We have hired some of the two best trainers in the business with Wolf Muller and his colleague Alexis who will be instrumental in helping curious customers from Arcos Gardens enjoy the beauty this great lake has to offer. We have also invested in some wonderful hobbie cat boats great for beginners and really fun for the more experienced sailor given their agility and speed. We would like to thank everyone who visited us at the recent summer events, including the EnterCard Scandinavian Masters at Barsebäck Golf Club, Sweden, the Verve Clicquot Gold Cup at Cowdray Park, and the Cartier International at Guards Polo Club, Windsor, England.
Arcos Gardens and the Swedish Golf Federation worked in partnership at the Scandinavian Masters to promote the eagerly anticipated official opening of the Golf Course this October. The Swedish Golf Federation have announced Arcos Gardens as their elite winter training facility and this October will be the first time that the Federation start using the facilities on site.
The Masters saw Scotland’s Marc Warren leap from Challenge Tour Number One to European Tour Champion when he claimed his maiden title with a play-off victory over Sweden’s Robert Karlsson. We look forward to seeing you next year for the 2007 Scandinvian Masters at Arlandastad Golf Club which takes place 16th-19th August
The Veuve Clicquot Gold Cup Finals Day on Sunday 23rd July, is now established as one of the highlights of the British Sporting season. The finest teams from all over the world played in the tournament, which started on Saturday 1st July and culminated in an exciting Final which saw Black Bears win the Veuve Clicquot Gold Cup, beating Ellerston White 9 goals to 8.
The Cartier International at Guards Polo Club, Windsor hosted two matches with the Price of Wales team taking on Hurlingham. The match was won 7 to 6 and Prince Harry lifted the Golden Jubilee Trophy. England’s team played a quartet from New Zealand for the Coronation Cup, which is historically presented by HM The Queen. This is the fourth time that these two nations have met in this competition and the score now stands in England’s favour at 3-1 after they won the Coronation Cup Final 9 v 7.
