Clouds bring much need rainfall to Arcos Gardens

On Friday 21st October 2005, we had the opportunity to meet John Wallace, the golf course superintendent at Arcos Gardens to have a look around the course.

John studied agronomy at university in USA, where he started his professional career, which has so far taken him around the world, to places such as USA, Morocco, Madeira, Thailand, North and South Spain. He is currently based in Arcos de la Frontera, Cádiz and brings his experience to the development of the new golf course at Arcos Gardens, having joined this project about one year ago.
He is happy to have had a couple of days rain this week, which has helped to make the grass grow. Water is an expensive and limited commodity, so they try to make the most of, and control the use of each drop of water with a modern irrigation system, by employing technical staff who are aware of the importance of saving water.
